I’m Christy Wilkins, California Central Coast artist. A little about myself, I am a mother of three super awesome children, one incredibly sweet pup, & happily married to my ocean science husband. When I’m not busy with my family, I’m painting in my studio, or creating plein air paintings somewhere amongst the gorgeous San Luis Obispo County. I have a gallery and working studio space in the Studios on the Park Gallery located in the center of downtown Paso Robles (1130 Pine St, Paso Robles, CA 93446). There you can find many of my available original paintings and myself busy at work early most weekdays.
I’ve been painting for as long as I can remember. I’m predominantly a self taught artist having learned techniques from my mom, high school art teacher, community painting classes, one year attendance at Ca. College of Arts and Crafts (Oakland), and painting/drawing/crafting alongside my art loving friends through the years. I prefer to paint with acrylics, as I work quickly and don’t have the patience to wait on oils to dry. Most of my artwork is described as whimsical pieces, full of color, movement and emotion. I love to paint images from out of my head, even my ocean critters, jellies, fish and such are my own creations. I find it’s just more fun to make stuff up. My love of the ocean is present in a large portion of my pieces. I try to portray a play on life, emotions, dreams, and reality through my paintings.
I hope you enjoy my artwork and thank you
for taking the time to read up on me.
